Looky what I made!! I used the Amy Butler Swing Bag Pattern, and some inexpensive fabric that I found at WalMart. The original pattern didn't have a button or closure, and while it is a nice idea, I wish I had just stuck to the pattern. I REALLY like how roomy the bag is without being too big. And, it is nice and sturdy. It is reversible and I have interfacing in there, too!
This is the first thing I have sewn (besides layouts and cards) since I made Grant's crib bedding 6 years ago. Yay! I'm kinda hooked now. I'm excited to use my Amy Butler fabric. Wahoo!!
(Don't look too closely, and remember that I am a tiny bit clueless about sewing!!)

I really like it Kelleigh! I'd love to try out that pattern if you want to share :)
ReplyDeleteBy the way, I was looking through a magazine a couple days ago and saw the CUTEST fabric...then I read it was Amy Butler fabric! So, now I know just how cute her stuff is!
I love it. Very good job. You'll gain confidence as you go. Thanks for sharing the pictures (I would love the pattern too).
ReplyDeleteGreat job Kelleigh!!
ReplyDeleteYou did a super job! The bag looks great.
ReplyDeleteKeep up the great work!
Kelligh - what a great bag, and it's reversible too! I can't wait to see the finished product with your Amy Butler fabric. Each bag turns out so different just by changing fabrics! Have fun sewing.
ReplyDeleteIt's adorable! Love the Amy Butler fabrics, now you'll have to make a few more to experiment with more pretty fabrics :)
